How much does solar panel cleaning cost in South Africa?

RobCon Electrical charges R35 per panel for arrays below 100 panels, and R25 per panel for arrays of 100 panels or more. A typical 12-panel home costs roughly R420, and a 200-panel commercial array roughly R5 000. A minimum call-out applies and prices exclude VAT.

Is solar panel cleaning worth the cost?

Dirty panels can lose a meaningful share of their output, and that loss shows up on your electricity bill every month. On most systems the recovered generation pays back the cleaning cost well within a year, and regular cleaning also reduces hot-spot damage that shortens panel life.

Do you charge a call-out fee on top of the per-panel price?

No hidden call-out surprises — we quote a clear per-panel price up front. A minimum job value applies to very small systems, and travel outside Gauteng is agreed with you before we book.

How often should I budget for cleaning?

Most Gauteng homes are cleaned every six to twelve months. Sites near trees, busy roads, construction or mining activity benefit from a clean every three to six months, and most commercial arrays run on a quarterly schedule.

What our clients say

Since our panels have been cleaned, our solar generation have been 32% higher. Great and trustworthy team — I should have done this much sooner! We forget how much dust our panels accumulate.

Contacted Andre Roberts — he promised to see that the solar problem we had was fixed within a week. It's now 4 days later, Andre visited me in person and my problem is fixed. Thanks to Andre for keeping his promise and providing me with great service!
